higashi naruse is located in akita prefecture's southeast corner. the ohu
mountain range is higashi naruse's eastern boarder, shared by iwate prefecture.
just to the south is miyagi prefecture. higashi naruse is 17 kilometers
wide by 30 kilometers long. the village is 203.57 kilometers squared. of

by car from the east and north, use the mizusawa interchange. take country road 397, when it is open, from mizusawa train station. from the south you can use the same entrance through mizusawa or use country road 342, when it is open, to drive through higashi naruse. by train the jr ohu line comes through jumonji station. from the station you can take a bus or a taxi to the village. |
